Hi there,
This issue's tip: the unused bottle
The most expensive product you own is probably one you barely use. A $14 serum you tried twice cost you $7 a use. This week, gather everything into one basket, put the oldest products in front, and don't buy a replacement until something is finished.
More in Use it up before you buy more, or price your routine with the routine cost calculator.
A label worth knowing
That little open-jar symbol with "12M" on it means the product is best used within 12 months of opening. Write the date you opened it on the bottom with a marker. See How long products last.
Reader question
"Is a $40 sunscreen better than a $10 one?" Not necessarily. Look for broad spectrum and SPF 30 or higher on the label. Sunscreens are regulated as over-the-counter drugs in the US, so those claims must meet FDA rules. The best one is the one you'll wear every day.
