Think in cost per use

A $30 product can be cheaper than a $10 one.

Price tags can mislead. What matters is what a product costs each time you use it, and whether you actually use it.

The math

  1. Note the price
  2. Estimate how many uses it gives you (or weeks it lasts)
  3. Divide the price by the uses
  4. Compare products on cost per use, not price

The hidden cost

A product you use twice and abandon has a very high cost per use. Unused products are the most expensive thing on your shelf.
